SENIOR ASSEMBLY KITS

These exciting PV assembly kits are designed for intermediate level
students already capable of soldering electrical components.
Both the 9-watt and 20-watt (7.5 volt) units are listed, with 12-volt
assembly kits available upon request.

  • **15 commercial grade B silicon solar cells
  • interconnecting conductor material
  • front glass and backing plate
  • output leads and misc. assembly hardware

JUNIOR-DIY

This kit provides an opportunity for young students to explore the basics of solar power through the construction of a solar panel.

During the exercise of assembling this solderless, completely safe Photo-Voltaic panel kit, students are given a front-seat view of the inner workings of this renewable energy technology.

The kit is easily assembled and can be used with groups of students ranging from 1 to 5 students. The cells used (15 in total) are durable, epoxy imbedded for extended use without risk of damage.

In the event that the cells are damaged, Green-First Technologies Inc. provides replacement cells at a low cost.

The kit includes the photo-voltaic cells (15) which are fitted with short leads terminating with quick-connect tongue connectors an aluminum frame, front and back plexiglass with the backing plate segmented for the alignment of the PV cells, held together with miniature bolts and nuts so as to be fully reasembled repeatedly.

Plexiglass and framing components are processed to ensure no harmful sharp edges are present.

Voltage levels are kept low (7 volts maximum - less than a standard 9 volt battery) for individual panels providing a high margin of safety yet voltage power levels are adequate for driving small electric motors, fans, lights, and battery pack charging. the completed panels may even be arranged in an array format, combining series and parallel circuits to form a replica of a commercial power PV system.
